Congratulations you are on the Short list to represent “Nottinghamshire Arrows” in the above Fun in
Athletics Festival. But due to the complexity of the selection process this does not guarantee you a place in the team. So that we can continue with the selection process we need to know that you are available before Tuesday 4th Nov 2008 so that the final selection can be made.
Details of the event are as follows:- This competition will start at 12.30 but you will be expected to arrive no later than 11.30 when the doors open for a warm up and to be given your final details.
So that I can then fill in the team sheets and make all the final arrangements I need to check your dates of birth, contact tel. numbers and your E mail address. These details are not disclosed and are used only by me for Sports:hall organisation and for sending /giving final details and results.
This final list of competitors is nearing completion and will be based on past Sportshall achievements. The make up of the teams is rather specific for example in the U11’s we have two teams of 15, each team having to cover 44 places in 16 events, hence the selected athletes have to be good in more than one event and they may not be chosen to compete in their preferred best events, but will be chosen to support the team in the best way possible. This is why until we are aware of who is available we cannot finalise the team
We shall be competing against approx eight teams from; - Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire, where we came third last year in both Boys and Girls so we need everybody’s best effort and attendance to try and better this great achievement and fly the flag for Nottinghamshire Arrows.
All athletes if selected will need trainers, blue or black shorts (above the knee) and a white t-shirt (they will be given a coloured tabard to wear over the tee shirt to denote the team) . They will also need a packed lunch and drinks. The competition is expected to finish at around 4 pm.
The team will stay together on the arena floor with the team managers and parents will sit in the viewing area. Athletes may be allowed to go to parents, if not required for a period of time but must be excused by the team manager as they will need to know at all times where the athletes are. (This may change as this is a new venue) If you require any assistance or require help with transport please contact me by Email or by phone
The final selection of the last few athletes to complete this team and the sorting of the events will be made after the next sports hall at Newark on Sunday 9th Nov 2008 , so please make every effort to attend. You will be made aware of the final team which will also be posted on the website:-http://www.notts-minileague.co.uk shortly after this event when the results have been processed
Maps and final details will be added to the site as I find them, which will also be emailed to members of the team or their contact. For all selected Athletes I must be made aware of any change of availability or illness immediately so I can make backup plans to find a possible replacement.
